Thanks for addressing this. I’d become aware of Jan Mayen when a nephew was working in the Faroe Islands and I read up on its geology and happened on Jan Mayen in the bargain. Its shape led me to believe that the volcanism had to be related to the spreading ridge, and now, thanks to you, I know that’s accurate, why, and how.
