Earthquakes can "hide" in the shaking of other earthquakes - but local seismic networks help
The Turkish seismic catalog shows two large aftershocks today (M6.4 and M5.8) but the USGS only has one (M6.3). Why?
According to the Turkish catalog, the earthquakes occurred 3 minutes apart. These earthquakes were identified using the Turkish seismic network, which densely covers all of Turkey.
