M5 earthquake near Göksun, Turkey is largest aftershock since March 23
Recent aftershocks align along possible NE-SW normal fault
A M5.0 earthquake occurred 15 km ENE of Göksun, Turkey at 20:16 local time on May 3, 2023. Although the earthquake was reported as M4.8 by EMSC and M4.9 by the USGS, those magnitudes are mb (short-period body wave magnitude); converting mb to more standard Mw (moment magnitude) yields M5.
