Hot water is spewing out of the Cascadia subduction zone. Is that a sign of new danger?
Nope.
A paper published on January 25th identified warm water coming out of cracks in the seafloor. The source of the water? Fluids on the Cascadia megathrust - the big subduction zone fault that lies offshore the coast of Washington.
